What is the purpose and working principle of screw conveyor

Screw conveyors are widely used in various industries,such as building materials,chemical, electric power,metallurgy,coal mining and other industries.They are suitable for conveying powdery, granular and small block materials horizontally or obliquely.They are not suitable for conveying easily deteriorated and sticky agglomerated material.In concrete mixing plant equipment,the use of screw conveyors has been most exemplified.

Structural features of the screw conveyor:

1. The screw shaft and the suspension bearing,the head and the tail shaft are connected by the tongue type.The installation and disassembly do not require axial movement and the maintenance is convenient.The mandrel is long,has less hanging,and has fewer failure points.

2. The variable diameter structure is adopted to increase the volume of the hanging bearing to avoid contact between the hanging bearing and the material.The life of the hanging bearing can reach more than two years.

3. Each transmission part adopts floating connection mode,and the suspension bearing is a universal joint structure,so that the spiral body,the suspension bearing and the tail assembly form an integral spiral floating body,which can freely rotate and avoid with the conveying resistance within a certain range,without jamming,not block the material.

4. The head and tail bearing housings are all outside the housing.All bearings are multi-layered and fitted with sealing technology,and the bearing has a long service life.

The working principle of the screw conveyor:

When the screw shaft rotates,due to the gravity of the material and the friction generated by the wall of the tank,the material can only move forward along the bottom of the conveyor under the pushing of the blade,which is like a nut that cannot be rotated.The translational motion is the same along the rotating screw.The transport of material in the intermediate bearing is based on the thrust of the material that is advanced in the back.Therefore,the transport of materials in the conveyor is completely a slip motion.In order to make the screw shaft in a more favorable tension state,the driving device and the discharge port are generally placed at the same end of the conveyor,and the feed port is placed as close as possible to the tail of the other end.
